Firing in a saggar is always suprising, you never know exactly what the fire and smoke will do to your work.
In 2016 I made a set of 52 jars, one each week.
The jars are € 100,- each (not including shipping).
Clay and fire
Clay and fire are the only things you need to make ceramic objects. The first findings go back to 8000 BC. This simple earthware had nice colors and patterns made by the fire. Gradually electric kilns were introduced and for decoration potters started to use glazes.
Although glazes can be usefull and practical, I prefer the natural coloring made by fire and smoke.
